GTO Restoration Project
This page is dedicated to the restoration of Roland and Helen Hill's 1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible.

Engine complete with attention to detail.
Frame after sandblasting.No repairs needed except where trailer hitch was mounted to rear horn section.
Front end and brake components after blasting, painting and detailing.All original components were used where possible.
Control arms after glass beading and powder coat.Note: rear control arms were boxed for stiffness, and new polyurethane bushings are to be installed to replace the mushy stock rubber bushings.

Flowmaster exhaust installation
Initial start-up and cam break-in.Engine was run and set-up before body was placed on chassis. The Hill family was happy to finally hear some noise.
Original heater box and blower motor restored
Restored wiper motor, brake booster, and master cylinder
8.2 differential hung in chassis
Pinion installed to proper pinion depth, with new bearings, seal and crush sleeve
Factory 3.55:1 gears installed to .006 backlash and pattern checked, factory open carrier was used
Axel seals and brake assembly installedNote: leading and trailing brake shoes
We custom bent the brake linesNote: see before pictures of frame and brake lines.

Engine and transmission installationOriginal TH400 was rebuilt and used with a 22-2600 torque converter.
Exhaust manifolds nitrite coated for corrosion resistance
